Need Alterations Done on Your Dress?
When ordering a bridal gown or bridesmaid dress, it is important to ALWAYS assume that you will need to have alterations done. Every manufacturer cuts individual dress sizes to a set of size charts, they do not custom make the dress to your measurements, and since almost no one is exactly the same as size chart measurements, odds are, alterations will be needed. Here are two of our most common alterations questions that we receive here at the Wedding Tree:
Q: Do you have seamstresses here at the Wedding Tree?
A: Yes, BUT… the seamstresses at the Wedding Tree are actually self-employed. Both of them work independent of the store, they have their own hours, their own prices, and take responsibility for their own work. That being said, both lovely seamstresses, Sarah and Arlene, do wonderful work and come highly recommended by the staff at the Wedding Tree. Their shop is located in the lower level of our store, ensuring that the dresses never leave the Wedding Tree.
Q: How much do alterations cost?
A: Because the seamstresses are self-employed, they set their own prices. The easiest way to find out how much they charge for a specific alteration is to call them and ask!

For Bridemaid, Mothers, Flowergirl, Prom, or Pageant gown alterations: Ask for Arlene!
They do also take on outside work, so feel free to call them.
When you call (608) 784-3560 you will reach the line that both seamstresses use, so it is important to specify which you are looking for when you leave your message. They also like to know what kind of dress it is, and what the date for event will be.
